Working with us
We book foundation work across the north OKC metro for independent crews. Two routes in, depending on who you are.
Edmond Foundation Works books foundation inspections and projects in Edmond and the surrounding counties, and independent contractors carry out the work with their own crews. So there are two conversations to be had here: one with companies who want booked appointments, and one with individuals looking for a position on a crew.
Qualities that get our attention
- You measure before you talk. The single thing we will not compromise on. An inspector who arrives with a pier count already in mind is not someone we can send to a homeowner.
- You can explain a floor contour to someone who has never seen one. Half of this work is translation. Edmond homeowners research before they call and they notice evasiveness.
- You lift slowly. Manifolded hydraulics, small increments, readings running throughout. Anyone who treats a lift as a race will break plumbing and brick.
- You know push from helical and when each belongs. Crews that only ever install one system find that system suits every house they visit.
- You are comfortable being checked. We work to engineers' specifications regularly. If independent review bothers you, this is the wrong outfit.
- You will walk away from a job. A meaningful share of our inspections end with nothing needing doing. Someone who cannot say that out loud costs us more than they bring in.
- You leave the site tidy. Spoil contained, excavations backfilled and compacted, planting treated as though it mattered to somebody. It does.
Getting in touch, in order
Send the basics
Email hello@edmondfoundationworks.com with your company or your name, the area you cover or want to work in, how long you have been doing this, and which systems you install. Two paragraphs is plenty.
Attach the paperwork
Certificates of general liability and workers' compensation, and evidence of contractor registration where the jurisdiction you work in requires it. Oklahoma issues no foundation trade license, so this paperwork carries the weight a license would elsewhere.
We check it
Insurance is verified with the insurer rather than from a forwarded image. For contractors we also ask to see two recent scopes with the homeowner details removed, because a scope tells us more about how somebody works than a conversation does.
A conversation
Usually about a specific property. We will describe a real situation and ask what you would recommend. There are several defensible answers and we are listening for reasoning rather than for a particular one.
A first booking
Contractors start with a small number of appointments and we ask the homeowners afterwards how it went. Individuals looking for crew positions are passed on to the contractors we work with, who do their own hiring on their own terms.
Roles the crews we book for are usually trying to fill: pier installers and excavator operators, crew leads capable of running a controlled lift, inspectors who can take and read an elevation survey, and office staff who can handle permits and engineering coordination across several jurisdictions.
